Read 'em and Veep

Watched the Veep debate last night and I thought Biden won handily. Palin's staged folksiness was wretching, and her overall demeanor was completely inappropriate. All her mugging and winking, and talking points rhetoric.. it was astounding. To me the most astonishing as far as sheer balls is concerned, was how she said she wasn't going to answer questions the way the moderator wanted her too, and moreover would no longer give anymore interviews in the 'media'.. and on top of that she wants MORE power for the vice presidency. So she wants to answer to no one, and have more power. Is it just me, or is Sarah Palin the anti-christ?

The thing is, worse than Sarah Palin last night was Gwen Ifill. I hate that fucking cunt. When she moderated the democratic primaries, she had no problem sticking it to Hillary, but for that fucking whore Palin, she lobbed softball questions with absolutely no follow-ups.. Why? because she was getting heat in the press – and rightly so for that matter – for writing a book that shows Obama in a favorable light. If I were her, I would have recused myself from the proceedings and let someone else moderate the mother fucker.

Overall, I don't think any of that bullshit, phony baloney cutesy Fargo bullshit is going to work on anyone besides Palin's base.. and a few fucking racist muldoons.

Now onto the next debates. My advice to Obama is to stop agreeing with that fuckface and start tearing him apart. This miserable old fuck is the same guy that said the fundamentals of our economy are strong 2 weeks ago.. meanwhile we're heading into a DEPRESSION.. not a recession.. but a DEPRESSION. Don't let this twat off the hook.. keep hammering him on that 'fundamentals' response of his. The madness must cease.

Jimmy Buffs

Well the Veep debate is tomorrow, and I'm not underestimating Palin and her brand of completely phony 'charm'. I think her expectations of doing well have been driven down by Republicans to such an extent that she goes in there with an advantage. If she comes off slightly better than a mongoloid, then she'll have exceeded expectations.

I see Obama is well up in all 3 key states, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. As long as nothing earth shatteringly bad happens on the Dem side, I'm pretty hopeful Obama can pull it off. It's time too. We need a change.. I'm not even talking partisan politics here  - although I do find the republicans revolting for the most part – I'm just saying we've had 8 years of this shit, and we just need a break.

Speaking of a break, let me discuss something other than politics for a sec… Yesterday, I went up to my parents as I had off for Rosh Hashanah. Over last vacation, we had road tripped out across Jersey and upstate new york In search of the best Diners, hot dogs and hamburgers. There was one place left on my list, and we hit it yesterday. It's a hot dog shack called 'Jimmy Buff's'.

First off, let me just say that it was excellent.. right up there with Rutt's Hut. Their special way of serving up a hot dog is really pretty unique. They take a big calzone looking thing made of pizza dough, split it open throw in 2 dogs, peppers, onions, and fried potatoes. All the grease gets soaked up by the bun.. It's just greasy delicousness. The potatoes are pretty interesting as well. Thick golden slices, fresh and hot – no salt added. Just potatoe-y goodness.

Another thing that was so enjoyable about the trip was that it was located in West Orange, NJ. Now.. I grew up in Rockland County, and spent my teen years and early twenties driving EVERYWHERE in the jersey and NYC area, and when we got to West Orange, I realized I'd never been there!!... Just the fact that I discovered a tiny nook I'd yet to discover was very cool.

Anyway, the place was absolutely packed with a line outside. The funny thing was how diverse the crowd was… Guidos, working class blacks and whites, middle class office workers, there was even this ridiculously preppy looking couple that pulled up in their BMW. I mean, talk about a cross section of humanity. They knew the score though, Jimmy Buff's serves up some good grub..

I highly recommend it!
