	Buddy The eternal optimist. He feels he's 'made it' at his job as a Junior admin assistant at the local asbestos factory. Buddy's favourite things in life are a hot cup of black coffee and a good conversation with Walrus.
	Walrus The misanthropic malcontent. He feels he's wasted his life at the cannery, stuffing sardines into little cans all day. Walrus has no compunction about laying his burdens down on Buddy mercilessly.
	The Postman A laconic sage-like character, with a mysterious past whom W & B met at the deli around the corner.
	Goldberg A goldfish who certainly isn't koi. He lives in Walrus's pond. He's a retired comic from the Catskills.
	Parsley Buddy's on again off again girlfriend, who has a penchant for tearing down Buddy's self-esteem.
	Mr. Tsing He runs the swingin' hot dog shack W & B frequent daily for their black coffee.
	Ella Mental Buddy's cubicle-mate at work. She's a genuine witch, pulling a 9 to 5 for the health insurance.
